Value beyond value chains: Case study collection

Private sector companies engaging beyond their own value chains

Read the report

This document should be used by private sector actors, and practitioners interacting with them, that are seeking to understand both the why and the how of engagement beyond their own value chains and that are considering beginning their own journey of engagement.

Collaboration is necessary between companies, governments and other organizations (including private sector companies) to create the enabling conditions for sustainable agricultural production. Case studies identified in this report demonstrate the role of private sector companies and financial actors in supporting multi-stakeholder initiatives at landscape, subnational and national level in commodity-producing countries.

This document accompanies the Value Beyond Value Chains’ Guidance Presentation, and was developed under the auspices of the Good Growth Partnership as part of its work to align sustainable production, demand and financing in commodity supply chains, and is designed to complement current in depth guidance from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Green Commodities Programme’s (GCP) Value Beyond Value Chains initiative (VBV).
